Smari leads London based film collective Freestyler Films. He has directed 6 fictional short films which have travelled the world on the festival circuit. Additionally he has directed voice overs, music videos and commercials including credits for Harpa Concert Hall, Home Heating, Chevrolet and Trivago. As a writer Smari has been supported by the Icelandic Film Fund, picked for the BFI network short film development programme and studied scriptwriting at NFTS. Smari is currently working on his debut feature documentary Home Game about an amateur football team and a comedy TV series for Icelandic TV as well as being in development for 2 other international TV projects as a writer.
